Applying
for
a Federal EIN
If you need an EIN (Employer Identification Number) for your group or area in order to open a bank account follow these instructions:
- Download and print form SS-4 and it's instructions from the IRS.

- Fill out your form.
- Example
- Call the IRS at (800) 829-4933.
- Tell them you have the form SS-4 with your information in front of you and that you need an EIN to open a bank account as soon as possible. They will usually give you the number over the phone.
- Use the EIN as your tax ID number when you open your account.
